Money doesn’t buy happiness. You know that. But a new study confirms this in a creative way. People who work for charities and social enterprises tend to be much happier with their lives than people who work for traditional for-profit companies. They believe more strongly that they are playing a useful role in life. According to the study, a for-profit worker would have to earn an extra $40,000 per year to be as happy as a person working similar hours for a not-for-profit organization.
