The use of sexual lubricants is very common today, especially for men and women as they age. Although we often associate the use of such products with women experiencing vaginal dryness, sexual lubricant can be a vital accessory in every couple’s bedroom.
By moistening a woman’s vagina with Aloe Cadabra®, it may promote more comfortable sexual experiences which are As Natural as Nature™. Every woman should seek a personal lubricant and/or vaginal moisturizer, which mimics her own natural mucosa so that she can feel young once again. The use of Aloe Cadabra® may enrich pleasure for both partners.
Unfortunately, not all sexual lubricants offer the same benefits, and some contain harmful chemicals. These ingredients may interact with a woman and a man’s body in a manner that causes unpleasant and unwanted reactions, or that presents various health risks.
With sexual lubricants, read the label just as carefully as you do with food products.
What you put on your skin will be absorbed into your blood stream. If you wouldn’t eat it, don’t put it on your body!
Here’s a short list of some chemicals and ingredients to avoid in your sexual lubricant:
Many people now strive to avoid these synthetic preservatives in all products they use. Although they mimic the effects of estrogen in your tissues, they appear to have links to a higher risk of breast cancer.
Petroleum or petroleum-based ingredients
These products can coat your skin and interfere with and inhibit your skin’s permeability and functionality. They act as a sealant and reduce much-needed petroleum. Petroleum-based substances may also contain impurities with possible links to various health conditions, including cancer. Commonly these materials are found in many multipurpose lubricants, such as petroleum jelly.
This is a chemical that, according to the EWG, is moderately hazardous. Problems include possible links to skin irritation and toxicity. High concentrations of phenoxyethanol have been associated with damage to the reproductive system, reduction in immune system effectiveness and compromised nervous system function in newborns. Phenoxyethanol is a chemical preservative used as a fixative in perfumes, an insect repellent, and a solvent for cellulose acetate. Avoid this substance.
This potentially toxic ingredient found in some brands of antifreeze may cause tissue irritation in women. Symptoms include burning and pain. Avoid many over-the-counter lubricants containing propylene glycol. This product serves as a solvent and preservative in food and tobacco, and is a major ingredient in electronic cigarettes.
This substance, which is often an ingredient in multipurpose lubricants, can have toxic effects and cause irritation. It is primarily an antibacterial agent in antiseptics. It is not to be ingested, although one form is found as a dental antiseptic for adults. It is also used in veterinary clinics to treat wounds as an antiseptic.
This form of sugar may be linked to an increase in incidences of candida. Candida can result in vaginal yeast infections in women who are susceptible to them. Glycerin is added into various foods as a sweetener and solvent, in low-fat foods as a filler, and in liqueurs as a thickening agent.
Similar to petroleum-based substances, those that are silicone-based will affect normal skin functions due to their ability to coat the area. They may also have inflammatory and toxic effects. Silicone-based substances include asmethyl polysiloxane and dimethicone. Silicone, while it feels silky going on afterwards it is known to dry you out. Ever notice how silky your skin feels when you put on some synthetic foundations or lotions? Hours later your skin feels tight and dry.
