Sustainably Sexy: Aloe Cadabra Organic Lubricant

Things to watch out for when you're comparing lube labels -- and notably absent from the Aloe Cadabra products -- include ingredients like Glycerine and Parabens (each can contribute to yeast infections and skin irritation), Propylene Glycol (a thickening chemical used in antifreeze), Petroleum (um, yeah... no thanks), Benzoic Acid, Hydroethyl-cellulose (commonly used in cleaning solutions), and Polyquarternium 15 (a body-building chemical used in many women's products and shampoos).

My first worry before trying Aloe Cadabra was that the lube would be sticky, like the Aloe Vera gel I've always used to treat sunburns, but my partner and I found the Aloe Cadabra lube to be almost sinfully slippery. Unlike some water-based and silicone-based liquid lubricants we've tested it didn't run all over the place (it's similar in both color and consistency to another substance you may encounter during sex), and the bit that did find its way onto our sheets didn't leave a stain, another common problem with some of Aloe Cadabra's oil- and silicone-based competitors. A little dab goes a long way, and we didn't hesitate to rub the excess into each other's skin or to take a little taste: Why not? Aloe Vera is, after all, the original healing skin moisturizer and also makes for a healthy drink commonly used to aid in digestion.

If there ’s one thing that there isn’t enough of in this world, is safer lubricant alternatives. When we did our sex extravagazna last year for Valentines day, I had a hell of a time finding safe alternatives to your conventional chemical alternatives. I did find a few brands, and now there’s one more you can add to your list: Aloe Cadabra. What a cute name. Like magic lube! Aloe Cadabra is a little different from the few others that I’ve found. The ingredients are food grade, so if you would happen to ingest it (and I won’t ask how you would, because what you do behind closed doors is your business), it’s perfectly safe.

I have to admit, that when I saw that it was mainly aloe vera gel, I was concerned that it might dry out or get sticky during use, unlike oil based lubricants, but it held up pretty well. I recently got a chance to review a new personal lubricant and I was really skeptical. We have used every single one on the mainstream market, and they have been continuously disappointing us time and time again. They all seem wonderful in the beginning. They have a nice scent, and the consistency feels smooth. But they always end up becoming sticky and just gross.

Quite honestly, when I received the Aloe Cadabra samples I didn’t have much faith in them. They had the same nice scent, and the smooth feeling we were use to, but I just knew in the back of my mind, they would break down and become sticky. WOW! Were we ever proven wrong! Not only did it last, but it never, ever became sticky and gross. We’re sold!

We also like the fact that the ingredients in Aloe Cadabra are all natural. Have you read the ingredient labels of some personal lubricants on the market? Chlorhexidine? Methylparaben? I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not put that stuff on my body, thankyouverymuch. So make sure to try out the all natural Aloe Cadabra lubricant. I highly recommend it!
