Our bodies need darkness to regulate and maintain health. But darkness is becoming a scarce good. And new research shows that artificial light in our homes and offices could be an unsuspected cause of diseases ‘of aging’—such as osteoporosis and muscle loss—that affect our ability to stand and walk.
