Aloe Cadabra: The Renaissance Lubricant

Scuba divers love Aloe Cadabra to get their wet suits on

While Aloe Cadabra is a fantastic lubricant and moisturizer, according to our customers, they’re not limiting themselves.  Without any prompting from us, many of you have been generous enough to share other uses you’ve discovered for Aloe Cadabra.

Probably the least surprising due to the aloe base of our product was from one young women who used it to alleviate her sunburn.  A couple who recently had a baby told us they used it on diaper rash. Yet another person described how they used it on a really bad “road burn,” they’d gotten from biking.  Within a week, the skin was healed.

But Aloe Cadabra isn’t simply being limited to people. One user told us about her dog being bitten in the face by an insect. After giving her pet some Benadryl, she used Aloe Cadabra directly on the bite to soothe away the sting. She’d read online that aloe helped alleviate itching, so she gave it a shot. According to her, it worked swimmingly.

We’ve heard from many that Aloe Cadabra has become their go to hand lotion.  It makes sense.  While Aloe Cadabra may be called a personal lubricant and its great for that purpose, the ingredients we use make it great for a variety of things.  Aloe Vera is widely considered anti microbial and anti fungal.  So, it can be soothing on sensitive skin.

Aloe Vera has also been used in medical centers on burns for a long time. And since we’re made with 95% aloe vera, it’s fantastic for that purpose as well.  Aloe Vera has also widely been considered to have nourishing, healing attributes for the lips since the time of Cleopatra, and there are folks who’ve shared that they use it in just this way!

As interesting as all these stories were, the most surprising one came from a gentleman who told us he used it to get his wetsuit on and off. Like any curious company, we did a marketing study and found that scuba divers were some of the biggest purchasers of Aloe Cadabra! Why? Well, similar to a condom, a wet suit is made from rubber and can be difficult to get on and remove without the help of a lubricant.

So, no matter what you’re doing or what you’re trying to lubricate or moisturize, keep Aloe Cadabra in mind.  When you start with 95% organic aloe vera, despite what the bottle may say or the connotation may be, it might just be the solution you’re looking for.  Share with us how you’re using Aloe Cadabra! We’re on Twitter and Facebook, and enjoy hearing from our fans!

NOTE: please check with your doctor is you have a serious medical condition and are considering using Aloe Cadabra in a way other than its “intended purpose.”

Vaginal Dryness got you Down?

Although not exactly a popular topic of discussion, vaginal dryness is an issue most women face at some point in their lives. Because of this, most people don’t realize just how common this problem is (yeah, it actually impacts about 95% of all women) or the joy that can be found working with your body to resolve the issue while maximizing your personal enjoyment when it appears.

Causes of vaginal dryness are fairly common and range from the following:
·      Stress / Emotions
·      Menopause
·      Natural changes in hormone levels
·      Chemotherapy
·      Childbirth
·      Allergies

So here’s the inside skinny. Our bodies function better with regular sexual activity. It keeps our juices flowing both literally and metaphorically. Studies show that natural lubrication keeps our organs in strong working order. But, as stated above, our emotional health is just as important. Making a connection with our partner on a deeper level enhances the sexual experience while helping to lessen our stress levels and strengthen our relationships is just as key. Time spent talking, sharing, and reminding each other of why you enjoy being together in the first place strengthens your bond, and enhances your intimacy. As it leads to sexual intimacy, your body’s natural juices will begin to flow. Of course, using a favorite organic personal lubricant from our fabulous Aloe Cadabra lineup helps enhance pleasure while aiding in the healing process.

When it comes to stressors in life, it doesn’t take much to picture the causes. Whether your stressors are caused by career, family, finances, or some other unlisted issues, it’s important to remember that you are in control and make a change. Take time to breathe, exercise, or relax with people you enjoy. Laugh. Have fun. But whatever you do, when stress starts to impact your mind and body, make a change. It will have an enormous impact on stress induced vaginal dryness, not to mention improve the rest of your life.

So what does this have to do with dryness? A healthy vagina’s made up of many layers of cells, stays lubricated with clear fluid, which keeps the vagina healthy, elastic and is noticeable when aroused. The amount of lubrication that occurs is affected by different factors such as the above list, along with low estrogen, fatigue, medications, pregnancy, drying and chemically based soaps.

Vaginal Dryness causes symptoms ranging from irritation, itching and burning, avoidance of sexual intercourse, lack of libido, and thinning and drying of the vaginal wall. Many women even believe that sex drive/libido go away during menopause. Reality is, studies have shown that’s not necessarily accurate. In fact, 80% of women report symptoms of vaginal dryness during perimenopause and menopause.

Here are a few basic options for dealing with vaginal dryness:

1. Drink plenty of water to ensure hydration. Eat a balanced diet and take nutritional supplements as needed.
2. Be careful about using harsh chemicals, soaps, douches and other products containing allergens, dyes and fragrances. They mess with your pH balance. Common chemicals to avoid are petroleum, silicone, propylene glycol, glycerin, chlorhexidine, phenoxyethanol and parabens.
3. Don’t forget the importance of sex. Natural lubrication may take a bit longer, but it is still there.
4. Use an organic personal lubricant. You want to read the labels and be AWARE of what you put in there! A lot of “Natural” ingredients are toxic, drying and well just not what you want on your most delicate parts.

At the end of the day, vaginal dryness is normal. There’s no shame in it, just a lack of discussion and understanding. In fact, it’s highly treatable in the most pleasurable of ways! All it takes is a little attention.

Corporate Responsibility and Lubricant

Lubricants have so many helpful purposes besides the obvious. Unfortunately, those who most need it are often the same people who either don’t have the access or the knowledge that not all lubes are “created equal.” They have no idea that although some lubricants may give them the necessary “slickness” in the moment, it’s actually working to against the body’s natural balances or drying them out.

This is one of the many reasons why we’re so proud to be able to support service providers and not for profit organizations who work so hard to address issues arising from things such as chemotherapy, menopause, child birth, hormone disruption, vulvodynia, and other important health and gynecological issues.

In the past year alone, Aloe Cadabra has committed to providing more than $100,000 in donations of its lubricant – aside from offering great educational resources – to various groups and causes. It is part of our commitment to being a responsible Corporate Citizen and one of the things from which we take the greatest satisfaction.

We always have an eye out for other great organizations to support, and we’ve found that our best sources for outreach are those who already know and love our wonderful Aloe Cadabra products. So if you happen to know of a great cause who could benefit from our support, please reach out to us. We’d love to hear from you!

“O” is for Organic

Posted on May 17, 2014

Organic Natural Vaginal MoisturiserA person would almost have to be under a rock these days to have not heard the word organic. Go to the grocery store and one will find entire sections dedicated to organically grown fruits, veggies, meats, and even cleaning supplies.

But what does organic really mean? When dealing with meats it means that no growth hormones or antibiotics were used. For plants, no conventional pesticides, fertilizers, radiation, or other unnatural products were used.

In other item like health, beauty, and skin care products it means that the ingredients are derived from plants and do not use synthetic chemicals, irradiation, or harmful pesticides. In fact, in many of the most popular lubricants, these chemicals can cause all sorts of imbalances in the vaginal area.

However, products like aloe vera promote healing, and not just for the skin issues like sunburns and cuts. It promotes healing from within, from the minor tears that occur with intercourse to aiding with vaginal dryness, a common occurrence that occurs with aging, and so much more.

John Gray, Ph.D., the author of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, recently discussed the healing properties of our organic lubricant that contains over 95% organic aloe vera in each tube. Click HERE to see what he had to say.

EACH TUBE CONTAINS OVER 95% ORGANIC ALOE!  This is just not a bottle of water.

Why All The Shyness About Dryness?

Posted on November 22, 2012

Flashback: Circa 1951, iconic sitcom, I Love Lucy, is on TV.  This is a time when having television meant you had a total of three channels to watch because there were only three networks.  And all programming was shown in black and white (weird, right?).

In this particular I Love Lucy episode, on screen (and off, actually,) married couple Lucy and Ricky Ricardo are off to bed – both are in menswear style pajamas of long pants, long sleeved button-down oversized shirts.
