Sexual Trauma: Awakening the Body from Trauma

Aloe Cadabra is “As Natural as Nature.” This product clearly fits with my work of over 40 years of specializing in trauma, and especially Sexual Trauma, which can clearly manifest in difficulties in relationships and sexual expression. (Sexual expression is one of my most favorite topics… besides golf.) I wanted to be able to help survivors to explore their sexuality, learn about sexual feelings, and FEEL them with the help of a product that is natural, and gentle, and free of harmful chemicals. There is an episode of a TV show, a young women describes an orgasm as “God waking up inside me.” To unwind sexual trauma is to celebrate the body, mind and spirit as a whole, what I call the many body voices of the body….hence my book called Body Voices.
When trauma is unwound, sexual expression may also be a celebration of a healthy, trusting, and loving relationship. The FIRST step in healing is AWARENESS, developing an awareness of what is being spoken and thought as well as awareness of body responses, sensations and feelings. The sexual journey is a rich one, demanding that we wholly explore, experience, and look at the old messages, patterns, and barriers to fullness. Many trauma survivors do not know their bodies – what their bodies look like, how they function, and where certain body parts are located. Then of course, there are the negative messages, shame and guilt.

Silicone Personal Lubricants
As a friend recently proclaimed after rubbing a premium silicone lubricant between her fingers, “wow, that’s as slippery as ice skating in roller skates.” So, what’s the deal with silicone lubricants? That’s a long topic, but here’s a couple of quick thoughts:
The upside, silicone lubricants are incredibly slick and can make for long lasting slipperiness and slickness. They’re typically unscented for those that are looking for something without scent. And, silicone is generally considered inert (ie. they aren’t bad for you per se). The downside? They may require clean-up afterward (you’ll be coated with it, which is what makes it so slippery and slick for such a long time). They can stain your sheets. Some people feel they’re so slick you’ll lose some of the sensation they’re looking for. And, they may not have ingredients that will nurture and enhance your well being like organic aloe vera or Vitamin E. Even if they do, check the label to find out just how much they have and just how natural the products are.
If you’re looking for slick and slippery, they’re great. If you’re looking for as natural as nature, you may want to look for something like Aloe Cadabra, which will enhance and nurture your body while providing a sensual feeling just like you’re used to.
Life and Ecstasy in Death Valley
We went to Death Valley and we found LIFE. Standing on top of the Black Mountains an amazing colorful rock formation, we felt like we were flying as we reached up to touch the sky. Everywhere we looked we could see and have another surprise moment, with something new to experience. We saw narrow canyons, plants, flowers, salt flats, vibrant colors and natural wonders everywhere. Our hearts felt alive with joy and love for each other. Imagine celebrating our relationship here in this valley of LIFE.
At dinner, I felt so much love… being IN love… as I put the ring on her finger, and looked forward to the time when the two of us become one in marriage. This was a slow down and relaxing weekend just the two of us. In my other pocket, I reached in for the colorful purple bag of Aloe Cadabra to enhance this very special weekend. Our bodies awakened to the scent of Lavender, as we celebrated the joy of this moment that we will remember always. We returned to our room with a view of the night skies with bright stars.
