Mindfulness therapy for mental health problems “more useful than drugs”
A new study shows mindfulness is useful in treating mental health problems. The biggest review of the practice by researchers at Oxford University found that mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) could help to combat depression as effectively as drugs. Last year, the Oxford Mindfulness Centre found that mindfulness could reduce the risk of relapse into depression by 44%, and showed effectiveness for treating generalised anxiety disorder and other mental health conditions.
